番茄社区 the Project
This four-year project aims to strengthen the livelihoods and food security of 6,000 small-scale coffee producers in South Kivu, 70% of whom are women. Building on the achievements of previous GAFSP- and FAO-supported initiatives, the project will increase the productivity, quality and resilience of agroecological coffee production through training, improved post-harvest processing, and support for international organic certification standards. It will also promote a diversified coffee-based economy through food processing, nutrition and financial inclusion initiatives, while strengthening cooperative governance, technical services and the market visibility of the Caf茅 Femmes-Plus brand.
